Question: The oracle says something about rogue programs attempting to avoid deletion. Does this mean programs on the Mainframe (the source) computer for the machines attempt to escape deletion by entering the Matrix?

iceverything776

Chosen answer: The obsolete programs who are believed to have a consciousness avoid being deleted by hiding in the Matrix.

Kirill Ostapenko

Answer: Well... there are many definitions. The Architect calls her the mother of the Matrix created by him to understand the mentality of human beings. As taken from the ending of this movie he explains that from the time of the first version of the Matrix there was always a percentage of people who would reject the matrix programming. Not understanding this the Architect created the Oracle to find out why. It was the Oracle who suggested that most of the people will accept the programming and that a small percentage must be left to escape, thus the creation of Zion and the cycle of destroying and renewal.

Question: Where is Andy's father? He doesn't even feature at the Christmas scene at the end. Are Disney suggesting this is a one parent family?

Stephen Bartlett

Chosen answer: Disney has had a growing trend to show more 'unconventional' families - i.e. not the nuclear family structure. They view it as a reflection of today's changing times. How about the following: Nemo's mother, both of Lilo's parents, Jasmine's mother. Pixar have also stated that one reason he was left out is because human characters were very difficult and expensive to animate at the time and he wasn't essential to the story.

Question: How long do hobbits live? Bilbo was 111 and that was old for a hobbit but in this section someone answers that Frodo was 50 and he didn't look that old to me.

Answer: In the books, Bilbo becomes the oldest hobbit that ever lived at the age of 131. In the books, Frodo is fifty - but the main events of the storyline occur seventeen years after Bilbo's birthday party. In the film, the gap is unstated, but seems to be less than a year, so the film Frodo is probably intended to be in his early-to-mid thirties, considered a young adult in hobbit terms.

Question: What's the point of the orange and the marijuana? I didn't quite get that.

Answer: I've been told it's to keep the marijuana moist. The moisture from the orange peel keeps the stuff fresh so that it burns longer. The same happens with an apple peel.

Question: Rachel Weiss's mom said that one daughter was dead and she hasn't spoken to her other daughter in so long, it's like she's dead too. Why didn't she keep in touch with her mom? Was that part in the book and cut out of the movie?

fan before the site

Chosen answer: Remember, in the book, the lawsuit is against tobacco companies and not gun manufacturers. In the book, Marlee's mother died of smoking-related lung cancer, thus the motivation for revenge against the tobacco companies. In the movie, the reason to avoid Mom is to maintain the stealth of Marlee and Nick's movements as they tried to "fix" a jury.

Question: As Boromir is struck by the second arrow, a cut to Merry and Pippin shows Merry dropping something round from his hand. What's that supposed to have been? It looks like a hockey puck, but I doubt that's what it was.

scwilliam

Chosen answer: A rock. Merry and Pippin are shown (in the Extended Edition of the film at least) throwing rocks at the charging Uruk-Hai.

Question: What type of car does Blade drive ? The black challenger-like coupe standing in his retreat is in one of the first shots there.

Answer: It is a 1968 Dodge Charger with modifications.

Question: Please can someone explain the ending of this film to me? Do Frank and Rachel end up together or not?

TraceL

Answer: The fact that Frank hires an older gray haired bodyguard for Rachel after he quit tells me that he didn't want her getting involved with another man, because his intention was that he would be involved with her.

Chosen answer: I saw an interview with Whitney Houston after the movie came out and she said it was left up to the individual person watching the movie as to whether or not Frank and Rachel ended up together.

Question: Does the hunter who shoots the t-rex with the tranquilizer darts die on the boat or does he get off the island some other way?

Answer: He leaves in one of the helicopters and has nothing else to do with the T-Rex after the death of his hunting associate.

Question: Is there a reason why we do not ever see the face of Katherine's boy-toy "Zeus"? Is the salary lower for actors whose face is not shown?

Answer: Zeus' face is not shown because the directors want to leave him to our imagination. Without knowing, he can be whomever we want him to be. This increases the credibility of her character as well since she is spontaneous and a free spirit with no "real" attachments. He is just like her - attainable physically, but not emotionally.

Question: In the scene where Eve knocks down all the bookcases, the curator comes in and tells her something like "straighten up this *mishaba*" what does "mishaba" mean?

MAC

Chosen answer: He says "straighten up this meshiver". Meshiver is just another word for mess.

Question: This question is not exactly for The Lion King but all the Disney films, I just didn't know where to put it. Has any character actually bled in any Disney animation? For example, in The Lion King, Shenzi and Banzaii (the hyenas) have red scratches but they aren't dripping with blood.

Answer: It's rare, because Disney likes to sanitize their violence. The recent Platinum Edition of Beauty and the Beast on DVD added a bit more blood to Beast's wounds after the wolf attack. "The Lion King" also does have a brief moment during the Scar/Simba fight when one of the lions whacks the other across the face and blood sprays. Those are two examples. Others can probably be found if you look hard enough.

Question: Do we know who the guy holding the flag is when our main characters ride up to the Black Gates?

Answer: It's more than likely he's just a higher ranked soldier representing Gondor, as Faramir couldn't go.

Question: I never understood the significance of the girl in the wheelchair at the reunion. Peggy Sue makes a big deal out of the girl but never in her "flashback" do we see this character.

Jeanne Perrotta

Chosen answer: In the original script, Rosalie (the girl in the wheelchair) injures herself in an accident. Peggy Sue tries to change things that happen in the future, including Rosalie's accident.

ChiChi

Answer: You DO see Rosalie in the past. She hosts the party at which Charlie and his group sing. And Jim Carrey asks for the lights to be turned out. She walks, and begins to dance with her boyfriend.

No, that was Maddie's party. Peggy Sue's mom said so when she asked her why she wasn't ready for the party, when Charlie came to pick her up.

I finally see her, thanks! She's to the left of Peggy Sue and her girlfriends as they watch Charlie and the guys sing. Then she's the girl dancing on the counter at the coffee shop when Peggy Sue meets with Michael Fitzsimmons the first time. I always wondered about the Rosalie plot hole.

I think we DO see Rosalie before her accident-she is the girl dancing on the counter at the coffee shop when Peggy Sue goes for coffee and a donut and runs into Michael Fitzsimmons. Peggy Sue pauses and watches her for a moment.

Question: What is the song that plays from the middle to the end of the trailer?

Nick N.

Chosen answer: That music is taken from Dragonheart composed by Randy Edelman.

Question: Even with biological proof Archer has a difficult time convincing his own wife that he is Sean Archer. How does Castor Troy manage to convince Pollux that he isn't Sean Archer when the two don't even meet until Pollux is out of prison?

Answer: Given that they're brothers, Castor probably reeled off a lot of family history that Archer wouldn't know. Add to that the fact that "Archer" is not acting in a way that the real Archer has any reason to act, and eventually Pollux would be convinced.

Question: When the X-men are trying to escape Alkali Lake we see Rogue flying the X-jet but why is she flying it in the first place?

Answer: The jet was originally left some distance from the base to avoid detection - when it became apparent that things were going to hell, Bobby and Rogue decided to try moving the jet closer to the base in order to rescue their friends.

Question: Since the success of the Fellowship was so important, why didn't the Elves give the members of the Fellowship Mithril shirts to better protect them? It saved Frodo a few times and would have saved Boromir too.

Answer: Well the elves dont have mithril shirts, the dwarves did, ages ago. Moria (the mine the fellowship travels through) was the only place where mithril metal could be found, of course it was invaded by evil and the supply of mithril was shut off to the world. So mithril in the time of the fellowship was extrodinarily rare. At one point in the extended edition Gandalf remarks that the shirt that Frodo is wearing is worth more than the entire shire, this is how rare mithril is.

Question: When Zam glances up at Anakin on top of her ship, why does her face go green and wrinkly like after she'd been poisoned?

Answer: Zam is a "changling." The human form she is assuming is actually a disguise, and the green ape-like form is her natural, "default" form, if you will. Since it takes a certain degree of concentration to maintain her disguised form of a humanoid, distractions like Anakin's cause parts of her body to revert briefly to its natural form.
