Emergency!

Peace Pipe - S2-E5

Continuity mistake: When Vince finds the liquor bottle in the drunk driver's car, he says that the driver has a cut, but doesn't think he feels it, and in the next overhead shot we see Johnny and Roy (at the left of the screen) walking away from the car with the drunk driver between them. However, in the next shot the drunk is still in the car, then in the next shot we see them at the front corner of Engine 51 in the background, but then he's back in the car again.

Show Biz - S2-E3

Continuity mistake: During the rescue at the movie studio, when Roy and Johnny wrap the line around the stuntman's waist, Johnny's belt does not go through his pants' back center loop, but a moment later after the wagon falls, when they pull the stuntman up, Johnny's belt now goes through that back loop.

Show Biz - S2-E3

Visible crew/equipment: When Dr. Knott comes back to the ER to see the tractor driver before he's discharged, he walks down the hallway with the nurse, and when he stops near Brackett he looks down at the actor's tape mark on the floor, then steps up to his mark. Then after Dr. Knott experiences chest pains, the two actor's marks in the two spots where Brackett had been standing, are visible on the floor as they walk to the treatment room.

Show Biz - S2-E3

Continuity mistake: When Roy, Johnny, and Chet are cleaning the locker room/bathroom while talking about the models' upcoming visit, dispatch drops tones for 'man trapped in a ditch', and then we see Johnny and Roy coming from the kitchen which is on the opposite side of the firehouse.

Kids - S2-E2

Continuity mistake: When Johnny and Roy are with the boy whose head is trapped in the window under the porch, the guys use the Porta-Power to lift the top jamb. When the child gets his head out and his mom tells him to come out from under the porch, the top jamb is straight and level, but when the boy walks away with his mom, the top jamb has lifted itself again.

Decision - S2-E1

Continuity mistake: During the structure fire, when Roy walks into the burning house his SCBA cylinder has a large arrow sticker on it, but when he's in the house searching for the boy it's a completely different tank with two red stickers, then when Roy goes upstairs it's back to the original tank.

Super Grover

Hang-Up - S1-E11

Continuity mistake: When Roy tells the other guys of 51 what they need to do to rescue the doctor, once they're in the hot room, in the wide shot Roy's holding the handie-talkie in his right hand as he's gesturing with that hand, but when it cuts to Roy's closeup the HT has vanished from his right hand, as he's still gesturing.

Crash - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: After John makes a sarcastic comment, while he and Roy are in the treatment room with Dr. Early, Roy takes the squad's oxygen tank with him when he leaves the room, but when he exits the ER to get into the squad, the oxygen tank is gone.

Decision - S2-E1

Visible crew/equipment: When Squad 51 is dispatched to an 'unknown type rescue', after stopping at the side of the road to talk to the two guys, when the squad follows the motorbike, the corner of the crew's reflector screen becomes visible as the squad pulls onto the road and drives off.

Hang-Up - S1-E11

Character mistake: When Roy and Johnny are waiting outside the radioactive lab, Roy sends Marco and Mike to replace Chet and the captain. When Chet and the captain come out, the captain points to Chet and then points up the hallway, while he says "All right, take off you two," even though it's only Chet who's heading outside to be decontaminated, and he could not have meant, "All right, take off you too," for the same reason.

Super Grover

Hang-Up - S1-E11

Visible crew/equipment: A few shots after Johnny informs Brackett of the victim of the radiation incident, there's a shot of the ER with two orderlies pushing a gurney towards the camera, and the two actors' tape marks are visible on the floor at the bottom of the screen, just before Brackett and Dixie stop there, when Brackett tells Dix to notify the radiation security guard.

Super Grover

Hang-Up - S1-E11

Continuity mistake: When Johnny and Roy go into the radioactive lab, Johnny removes his glove to check the doctor's carotid pulse and when they walk through the doorway both his gloves are off (he's holding them), but in the next shot exiting the doorway both of Johnny's gloves are back on.

Brushfire - S1-E5

Visible crew/equipment: After Roy helps the looter into the squad, when Johnny goes to the motorcycle and finds the leather bag full of jewelry, the mic wires that run from under his shirt/belt into his right pants pocket (with the transmitter bulge) are visible as he bends down.

Super Grover

Brushfire - S1-E5

Visible crew/equipment: After the looter is helped into the squad, just as Roy gets into the driver's seat, the reflection of camera equipment becomes visible on Squad 51's vent window (not to be confused with Roy's arm or the reflection of the red wing mirror).

Super Grover

Brushfire - S1-E5

Revealing mistake: After Squad 51 is dispatched to the motorcycle accident, there are wide shots of the squad driving through the hills, then in the closeups of Roy and John, the squad shakes from side to side to mimic driving, but we can see that the surrounding rocky area behind the squad (matte painting) does not actually change at all.

Super Grover

Mascot - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: When Squad 51 is dispatched to the heart attack, when Roy opens the apparatus bay door John and Bonnie run underneath, and we can see that Engine 51 is not parked in the bay, but in the exterior shot of the squad pulling out the engine is in the bay.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Continuity mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the 'man trapped between two buildings', Roy is not wearing a watch when he and John head out on the lines between the buildings and also when they get back on the roof, but during the actual rescue while on the lines, both stunt guys are wearing watches on their wrists.

Breakdown - S6-E15

Charlie: I think you guys are playing games with me, and I don't like it.
Roy: Now, wait a minute. We're not playing games. We don't play games with the equipment...
Captain Stanley: Wait, hold on. C'mon everybody, look we're all on the same side here, aren't we?
Charlie: I wonder.
Captain Stanley: Charlie, why can't we put the squad in the shop and have us a reserve vehicle here?
Charlie: No, no, Hank. Not until I'm 100% sure that I can't fix it. If there's anything wrong with it. This coffee stinks. [Leaves the room.]
Captain Stanley: You guys playing some kind of joke on him?
John: We didn't make the coffee!
Captain Stanley: Not the coffee, you twit, the squad.
Roy: Cap, there's something wrong with that squad out there.
Captain Stanley: [sigh.] All right, if you say so... I made the coffee.

The Game - S6-E1

Trivia: It's in this episode that the Heimlich Maneuver is used for the first time by the paramedics. At the USC game, when a guy is choking on a hot dog, John and Roy are called, and John uses the Heimlich. Up until season 6 we've seen the guys use other methods, such as the ChokeSaver which look like huge white tweezers, to remove obstructions in an airway, as seen in 4x9, "Foreign Trade."

Show generally

Question: In quite a few episodes of Emergency there is a character that the doctors and other nurses call Nurse Carol. She is the older nurse with dark hair. I would say she is on at least a fourth of all episodes in all seasons yet I can not see this actress getting credited or listed as uncredited anywhere. I wonder if she was an actual nurse. Does any one know who she was. Yes there also were a couple of other actresses who played a nurse named Carol on one or two episodes and they are listed in the episode guides. She also is the patient with her arm in the cast talking to Dr. Morton in the episode 6:18 Firehouse Quintet.

Answer: On IMDB, actress Anne Schedeen is listed as playing Nurse Carol on six episodes from 1974-76.
