Continuity mistake: When the kid slowly hobbles towards Rhino somehow outsprinting all the policemen, seen from behind he is walking in the shade for a large tract, but the street is sunlit in the other views. In general throughout the scene the police cars are now in the shade, now in the sun. (02:10:30)

Stupidity: Menken runs away from the Special projects section inputting an alarm code in there. Security at Oscorp is not exactly well-thought-out though, because apparently when there's an alarm in their secret weapon-experiment containment facility, their security protocol consists in opening the cells containing those super secret projects so any intruder can more readily steal them.

Plot hole: Harry learned about Max Dillon watching the Ravencroft video that lasted just a few seconds; from that he can infer the hatred for Spider-man, but not much else, and he's instantly locked off his Oscorp account, and building, after that. However, when he meets Max, he also knows that he is the one who submitted the design for the Oscorp power grid, which is information he shouldn't have since he had no time nor opportunity to investigate further - plus, all data about Max has been erased, and he never got proper credit for that to begin with. (01:28:50 - 01:36:30)

Sammo

Stupidity: Oscorp wants to keep hush-hush the death of Max Dillon and erased entirely his existence from the records, because "he is invisible", and a big plot point is made that the guy is 'invisible'. Let's go by this premise, even if it's patently absurd (the guy is so conspicuous that he's going to be the butt of plenty jokes, and we saw at least two coworkers he's familiar with); erasing the records and pretend he never was an employee makes sense, but actively hunting down Gwen Stacy just because she looked his name up -finding nothing - does not. Imagine if Peter didn't save her and they caught her; there's nothing Oscorp security could have done to her without exposing them much worse.

Stupidity: Harry Osborn quite literally inherited the company his father founded. Presumably he owns or controls a majority of the stocks, because he was appointed CEO by his father and nobody questioned him. However, one of his employees can just instantaneously fire him from his position. We don't know the precise rules and internal regulations of Oscorp, but it's safe to say that this is not how company hierarchy works, especially considered that no charges are pressed on Harry and everyone would be out of a job (including Menken) if the circumstances were public - like having created a monster and waterboarding a guy in their basement.

Suggested correction: Traditionally, CEO's can be fired if the company board votes them out of their position. (Something similar actually happens to Norman in the 2002 film.) While Menken doesn't specifically say this is what happened, he did frame Harry for covering up Dillon's "death," so we can safely assume that there was some sort-of emergency vote to remove Harry in the meantime as part of his power-play. (It'd honestly just be a waste of screen-time to show it.) Additionally, given the allegations against Harry (covering up a death), who would believe him if he came forward, anyways? Also, Electro is being waterboarded in a different location (Ravencroft Institute), not the Oscorp basement.

The thing is, the Raimi movie set the situation up properly. Norman was dealing with the board members in the meeting with the military already, and the business situation was addressed in a short scene that made clear a power play for profit. He was the boss, but not a monarch, and they don't "fire" him showing up with the guards anyway. The 'board' scene in TAS2? Harry treats everyone like lackeys and mentions that everyone will 'work' for Felicia; he bosses everyone around appearing to have inherited the position. It is mentioned that to depose the already ill and scandal-ridden Normal from his post would have needed legal action. Extra emphasis is given by Menken about any scandal going to hurt the company. Even if he had in mind to use Harry as scapegoat from the getgo, as I said, it would hurt the company terribly (going by the logic of the movie first and foremost), and he pulled off an amazing powerplay using incriminating evidence against Harry recorded an hour earlier and that he couldn't realistically share without destoying the company. It was damaged so heavily by an employee going rogue, what about the new CEO going nuts to the point of being kicked out, whatever the reason was? Lastly yes, Ravencroft appears to be part of Oscorp, so I simplified there. Of course yes, the throwaway "you're fired' line saves time, but the situation struck me as contradictory.

I can definitely understand where you're coming from, so I'll just say I think this is probably an agree to disagree situation. I feel like it's easy enough to explain away any contradictions or holes with some conjecture (I think like it ultimately comes down to the movie just not wanting to bog itself down explaining every detail), but the way the movie presents it is indeed a little over-simplified and janky. So I totally understand your take.

Stupidity: The security fails to block Gwen Stacy at floor 63 of the Oscorp tower. They own the whole building, and they have radios; by the time she reaches the ground floor (which is exactly the floor we see her reach) the building security can intercept her. We saw in the first movie (and it's basic logic and logistic of a company of this size) that they do have security at the entrance - and it's the regular building security that is involved, not a couple of mercenaries.

Sammo

Other mistake: Peter grabs with his web at super-high speed a mug full of scorching hot liquid that he uses to slapstick his way out of the Oscorp security stooges; somehow the cup clashed against his hand staying perfectly filled and unperturbed, but in the next shot the slightest bump spills coffee everywhere. (01:11:20)

Sammo

Visible crew/equipment: We get a good view of the Oscorp corridors, in particular the one outside the closet where Gwen and Peter hide. They kiss and there's a lovely light seeping through the door's window; when they start making out and also quickly when they open the door you can actually see the big spotlight that emits those warm rays. (01:10:49)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Gwen nearly falls off her own flats trying to avoid Oscorp's cartoon security, Peter grabs her. She clings to her and her mug hand is against his arm. She says "Hi!" in the next shot and her arm is lowered. (01:09:20)

Sammo

Revealing mistake: Peter, scientific genius, needs to watch Youtube to understand how batteries work (and will need Gwen later to remind him the obvious relation between magnetism and electricity). As he watches the video, we can easily see it's a dummy page; it has 257,529 views, but two subscribers, and with 92 likes and 0 dislikes has still the bar that shows the like/dislike ratio that is about 4/5. The video is stupidly short, just 20 seconds that say nothing about the topic, and when it's 2 seconds from ending it still goes on off camera for about 6 seconds. (01:03:45)

Sammo

Other mistake: When Peter looks up "Roosevelt hotel", the map result shows "Map data ©2013 Google." The movie was shot in 2013 but takes place in 2014. (01:01:30)

Sammo

Revealing mistake: Electro grabs two cables and unleashes the power of dubstep making every billboard and sign fall. In the shot where the billboard for Mamma Mia and Jersey Boys begin to fall, several extras are running towards the camera and there are a few (like a woman to the left, wearing a white pantsuit and a light purple vest) that are laughing as they supposedly escape terrified. (00:58:30)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Enraged because Spidey is being filmed by cameras, and he is not (best villain motivation ever), Electro sends a wave of electricity towards him. Spidey jumps over police car 7703 (the one that he dented landing spine-first in it earlier) but the slow-motion sequence that follows takes place featuring car 1206. (00:56:40)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Electro approaches the cables in Times Square, in the overhead shot we see that the person closest to the grate he targets is standing one row away from it. The following shots are consistent with that, even if we can see that there are more people. When he opens the grate in another angle, that person is standing right next to it. And when he digs his hands into the cables, some person with khaki pants is walking across the metal grids, but he wasn't there before. (00:51:35)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: After Gwen says "I'll be moving to England", she takes a breath, swallows, closes her mouth, but in the next shot her mouth is open. (00:50:40)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Harry at the board meeting sarcastically paraphrases the Connors incident mentioning the "giant lizards" you can see Felicia Hardy in background is writing down things, but she isn't in the previous shot. (00:37:05)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: At the board meeting, Harry is playing with his father's electronic seal in a way that displays towards the camera the side with the Oscorp logo. But there are two different camera angles from opposite sides, it can't be facing both at the same time. (00:36:55)

Sammo

Revealing mistake: When Gwen catches Max's elevator in a rush, she clutches to her chest the same mug that when she went through the door was practically horizontal. Luckily it's one of those movie empty mugs people carry for no reason. There's a similar scene the day after when she carries an empty mug - a different one, incidentally - but that's when she is running away from the security and the mug is supposed to be empty. (00:28:20)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Gwen's phone call;Spidey holds the plutonium in a different position in each shot - at the end he even just has it standing perfectly vertical on its own. After the first two shots -when his arm goes from behind the grill to under his chin - we are not talking about consecutive shots anymore and the camera cuts away each time for over two seconds so it is technically possible he'd change position every time, but it randomly goes from above the grill, to behind, front, and perched on it. (00:11:25)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: In the second part of the chase, Sytsevich drives off leaving all the police behind and all the plutonium falls from the rack except the second container from the left in the top row. During Spider-man's antics in the back of the truck you can see the container about to fall (and eventually falling) from the third hole from the left. (00:10:50)
